The opportunity

Tax Specialist will be working closing with line manager in ensuring that Core42’s interest are well covered from a tax perspective. The day-to-day work would entail assistance to the internal tax team, primarily concentrating on UAE tax matters—including corporate tax, transfer pricing, and VAT—as well as international tax issues in US, Europe and other jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in interpreting and applying UAE Corporate Tax legislation and associated regulations.
  • Assist in the collation of data and coordination with external consultants on ongoing VAT matters, including the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, entity classification, audit assistance, and maintenance of supporting records.
  • Contribute to the development of internal technical memoranda, guidance documents, and assessments of tax implications.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assist in evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
  • Support initiatives related to cross-border taxation, including matters involving transfer pricing, treaty application, and international tax structuring.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data for Pillar Two / GloBE rule compliance and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
  • Review and summarize deliverables received from external consultants on international tax matters, including but not limited to United States and European Union.
  • Prepare documentation, working papers, and presentation materials for internal stakeholders and review processes.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to engage with local tax authorities and external consultants on tax-related matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and facilitating the smooth execution of projects.

What we’re looking for

  • Required skills / qualifications
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA); additional tax specialisation preferred.
  • 6-8 years post qualification experience in international tax, ideally from Big-4 firm or multinational company
  • Preferred skills / qualifications
  • Proficiency in UAE tax landscape a must.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax frameworks, treaties and transfer pricing rules.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with or practical knowledge of US and EU tax legislations is an added advantage.
