About the Job:

Manage Offshore operations and Base refits, including planned maintenance plan of ROV systems. Supports ROV maintenance and operations in accordance with policy, procedures and to project requirements to ensure efficient management of the departments’ capital equipment resources. Be involved and assist in the preparation of ROV procedures & methodologies, documentation for the ROV operations including the required Risk assessments for the operation with the ROV team. Preparing the work package for the ROV and keeping all in date including all certifications and insurances for the ROV, required slings and respective LARS systems. Responsible for preparing and ordering spares and the required consumables for all ROV systems ahead of time. Responsible for managing the mobilization of the ROV system onboard the vessel/rig and will be responsible for providing technical and operational guidance to the ROV personnel onboard.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversees all ADNOC L&S ROV operations to eliminate any hazard exposure to the ROV team members, assets, business, and company status.
  • Reviews individual ROV resources’ requirements, discuss with counterparts to ensure that ROV operations are conducted in accordance with company, IMCA operational and safety standards
  • Monitors installation of new ROV equipment and modifications to shipboard ROV systems as well as repairs in dry-docks in coordination with the concerned Technical Department personnel to ensure any alterations are in accordance with provisions of approved policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Monitors the renewal of ongoing certification and training of the ROV personnel through regular safety drills and client-approved training courses to ensure personnel competencies in accordance with approved standards
  • Reviews and evaluates critical ROV equipment, spare parts and consumables in coordination with operational requirements to determine effective levels of stockholdings to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Plans and organises mobilisation for operations, preparation of mobilisation plans, and training of personnel on new assignments to ensure optimum and safe performance in line with client’s scope requirements
  • Liaises with external parties and clients, as appropriate to discuss and resolve ROV and safety related issues and provide a professional technical advice concerning ROV operations & HSE issues to ROV Management, clients and port authorities to support informed decision-making process
  • Completes annual dive system audits at all dive stations to ensure equipment is properly maintained and fully functional.
  • Ensure timely preparation of technical manuals, ensure quality documentation and records for the Subsea department.
  • Responsible to develop and maintain a safety manual that includes information and procedures relating to the safety and health of the ROV team members to ensure that ROV operations are carried in compliance with statute provisions and pursuing industry excellence.
  • Participate and lead planning, assessment, and review of ROV units’ equipment, systems and other requirements to ensure all ROV capabilities are fit for purpose with optimum performance.
  • Maintain regular contact and liaison with all Head Office and Station department heads on matters such as ROV activities and ROV equipment maintenance.
  • Remain abreast of all Company policies and procedures as well as national and international regulations relating to ROV safety and ensure all supervisors are kept duly informed of these.
  • Visit sites to discuss and monitor operational and safety issues with ROV supervisors and clients
  • Attends industry meetings to keep abreast of International & regional operational & safety issues and participates in development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to ROV Safety and present suggestions and ideas to the Company, whenever necessary, to ensure manuals and other documents are up to date to support improve safe performance in line with international practices and standards
  • Prepare the respective work package per ROV, which includes technical readiness, spares status, certifications and insurances of each ROV system
  • Be involved in the preparation of ROV operational procedures and methodologies. This includes preparation of relevant risk assessments for the operations.
  • Plan the use of relevant sensors and their integration with the ROV based on different project requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree/ Diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e. electronics/electrical/mechanical)
  • Formal qualification in Safety discipline or adequate experience in Safety field e.g. NEBOSH (International) Diploma, or equivalent.- optional
  • Recognised Internal / Lead Auditor qualification
  • At Least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years as an ROV Superintendent
  • National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
  • Equivalent Industrial Certification/ Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in any relevant discipline
  • Emergency First Aid at Work & Emergency Response Training Course
  • ISO Lead Auditor qualification or similar is desirable
  • ROV System Audit and Assurance training competency certificate to compliance with IMCA R006
  • Must be able to obtain CICPA for all UAE sites
  • Valid UAE Drivers Licence
