The position of Test Baker is responsible for performing in-house bakery tests in compliance with the standardized procedures (SOP) and adhering to strict QA requirements & guidelines to ensure customers receive efficient service & quality results.

The position of Test Baker is responsible for performing in-house bakery tests in compliance with the standardized procedures (SOP) and adhering to strict QA requirements & guidelines to ensure customers receive efficient service & quality results.
Strategic
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily standardized baking tests to determine baking characteristics in required bread applications on Grand Mill’s/Co-manufactured flour and periodic on Competitor's flour
- Assist & support the R&D team in the implementation of NPD and change of grist.
- Assist & support the commercial team in visiting customers, providing technical advice and feedback when required.
- Handle samples & perform analyses according to procedures & test methods ensuring compliance with local & international standards.
- Complete daily testing sessions with the select panel.
- Ensure that the bakery equipment is maintained in a sound state by calibration & maintenance.
- Maintain efficient & effective baking processes with suitable turnaround time targets met, with on-time reporting of quality results.
- Monitor progress, record observations during the process and analyze results.
- Ensure to provide accurate test baking results.
- Escalate issues related to of specification of the final product through the correct channels in a timely & truthful manner.
- Support customer complaint investigation through baking tests.
- Assist in Flour Additive preparation for production.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Formal Baking qualification or Bachelor of Science preferably in Food Technology or any related Food Science
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Bakery or Food Manufacturing Laboratory
- Scientific knowledge of flour and bread
- Ability to understand products and the significance of tests conducted.
- Ability to bake and test flour-based products.
- Maintain clean equipment and Preparation of standards.
