Synopsis

The Threat Assessment Controller will effectively implement 24/7 aviation security reporting system, as well as threat assessment and risk management processes, in accordance with Etihad standards and applicable regulations.

Accountabilities

  • Be aware and knowledgeable with all relevant Etihad aviation security policies, standards, requirements, and procedures as well as applicable regulations, as outlined in security programs, manuals, bulletins, directives and other similar documentations related to the area of operation.
  • Implement effective operations of Threat Assessment Centre as the 24/7 point-of-contact for security reporting
  • Manage ‘SeMS’ as the 24/7 aviation security reporting system within Etihad Airways and liaise, communicate, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders with regards to 24/7 aviation security reporting system, as well as threat assessment and risk management processes.
  • Perform effective threat assessment and risk management processes to identify, control and continuously review security threats, as well as to determine and recommend risk mitigation measures.
  • Effectively implement and comply with processes, procedures, systems, documents, records, and other resources under the responsibility of the jobholder to ensure implementation and compliance with Etihad requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Act as deputy for Manager Threat Assessment Centre (TAC and Risk) to ensure business continuity. Perform other related tasks as directed by line manager or delegate.

Education & Experience

  • University graduate with bachelor’s degree, preferably security or management field
  • At least 4 years of aviation security management background
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of civil aviation security standards and regulations, and its applicability and implementation in an operational environment
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of security threat assessment and risk management, and its applicability and implementation in an operational environment
  • Successful completion of Security Management System and Risk Management courses, preferably from ICAO or IATA or industry-recognized learning institution
  • Trained and/or certified as a Threat Assessor
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office)
