Trainee Engineer - Solar (Project/Site)

Job Purpose

A Site Engineer - Solar is responsible for assisting Site Engineer/project engineer for overseeing the installation and construction of solar energy systems at the project site. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, on-site management skills, and a focus on safety, quality, and schedule. The Site Trainee Engineer ensures assistance for effective and efficient execution of solar projects from site preparation to system commissioning.

Job Responsibilities

Site Preparation and Surveying: (Provide assistance)

• Conduct site assessments and surveys to understand the conditions, layout, and requirements for the installation of solar energy systems.
• Prepare detailed site plans, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
• Perform topographical surveys, identify potential issues, and suggest appropriate solutions.
  
  

Installation Supervision: (Provide assistance)

• Oversee the installation of solar panels, mounting systems, inverters, and electrical connections, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Work closely with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure quality control during the installation process.
  
  

Quality Control and Compliance: (Provide assistance)

• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure adherence to safety standards, design specifications, and building codes.
• Ensure the installation complies with all relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), environmental policies, and local building codes.
• Manage site-specific compliance
  
  

Site Safety and Risk Management: (Provide assistance)

• Implement safety protocols on-site to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  
  

Coordination and Communication: (Provide assistance)

• Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment are available and on-site as needed.
  
  

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: (Provide assistance)

• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the installation team when issues arise during the installation or testing phases.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, or structural issues encountered on-site during the solar system installation.
  
  

Documentation and Reporting: (Provide assistance)

• Maintain accurate records of installation activities, site conditions, and inspections.
• Submit regular progress reports to the project manager, highlighting any delays, challenges, or risks encountered.
  
  

Post-Installation Support: (Provide assistance)

• Oversee the commissioning and testing of the completed solar systems to ensure all components are functioning as expected.
• Provide training and support to clients on the operation and maintenance of the solar system once it is fully installed and operational.
  
  

Performance Monitoring and Maintenance: (Provide assistance)

• Monitor the performance of installed solar systems to identify potential issues early and ensure optimal performance.
• Perform maintenance tasks as required
