Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and welcoming guests to restaurant with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary requirements and preferences are considered.
- Presenting menus and making knowledgeable recommendations based on guests' preferences and the availability of items.
- Providing a high level of personalised service by anticipating guests' needs and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay at the restaurant.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant, including tables, chairs, and surrounding areas.
- Setting up and arranging restaurant furniture in an organised and aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain the quality of food and beverages.
- Handling guest complaints and resolving issues promptly and professionally, escalating concerns to the Restaurant Manager when necessary.
- Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and beverage offerings to provide accurate information and make recommendations.
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of utensils, equipment, and cleaning procedures.
- Upselling and promoting hotel services, facilities, and special promotions to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
- Assisting in the preparation, setup, and breakdown of events, parties, and special occasions as required.
- Collaborating with colleagues and maintaining a positive working relationship to ensure a harmonious work environment.
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and improve service skills.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience as a waiter/waitress in a luxury hotel, resort, or upscale dining establishment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse guests.
- Strong customer service orientation and a genuine passion for providing exceptional experiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards and the ability to adhere to them consistently.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring timely delivery of service.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on business needs.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as lift and carry trays and equipment as required.
- Knowledge of Forbes Standards.
- Fluency in English is required, and additional language skills are desirable.
