Ward Attender

Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the registered nurse. Contribute to the general environment of the hospital well-being of the patient as a member of the nursing team.

• Assist in patient care and other ward related duties as directed by and under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Respond quickly to patient’s request for assistance.
• Assist with patient’s elimination, mobility, and physical comfort, eating and drinking needs while observing and reporting any specific changes to the staff nurse.
• Assist the nursing staff in bed making, sponge bathing, and other hygienic activity of the patient.
• Responsible for segregation of soiled linen as per infection control guide lines under the supervision of nursing personnel.
• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness in all areas including patient’s room within the unit.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and storage areas.
• Act as a messenger when required- Specimen transporting, CSSD instruments, and Insurance purposes.
• Escort patients to and from Radiology Department as directed by nurse on duty.
• To be responsible to act as a part of infection prevention and control programs.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing/cleaning patient’s room for admission/discharge.
• Participates in any scheduled educational activities
• Assist in transporting patient, prepare surgical site by trimming hair.
• Responsible for cleaning equipment’s, beds, lockers, furniture’s etc.

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate English skills preferred. Spoken Arabic is advantageous.
• Demonstrate motivation to work in a health care environment.
