Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure stock control systems are up-to-date and accurate.
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas for maximum efficiency.
- Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff.
- Assign tasks and monitor employee performance to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff to foster professional development.
- Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and workplace regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Comply with legal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
- Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Monitor performance metrics and address inefficiencies proactively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless supply chain processes.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints or operational issues effectively.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (e.g., WMS) and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Certifications in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) are an advantage.
- Fast-paced warehouse environment with physical activity and occasional lifting.
- May involve shift work, overtime, or weekend schedules, depending on operational needs.
