Role Overview

The CFO & Head of Asset Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial governance, asset performance, capital allocation, and value creation across a global portfolio of owned luxury hotels and resorts. This role integrates corporate finance leadership, hospitality asset management, investment oversight, and strategic partnerships, ensuring optimal ROI, disciplined capital deployment, and long-term value maximization across all hospitality assets. The incumbent will also lead M&A activities, joint ventures, and operator partnerships, working closely with top-tier global hotel operators and institutional stakeholders. Role may require frequent travels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Hospitality Asset Management & ROI Optimization
  • Lead end-to-end asset management strategy for all owned hospitality assets (luxury hotels, resorts, mixed-use leisure assets).
  • Establish and monitor global asset performance frameworks (RevPAR, GOPPAR, EBITDA, NOI, ROI, IRR).
  • Drive asset value enhancement initiatives including repositioning, refurbishment, rebranding, and operational restructuring.
  • Benchmark portfolio performance against global luxury hospitality standards.
  • Identify underperforming assets and execute turnaround or divestment strategies.
  • Develop long-term capital improvement plans aligned with brand positioning and market cycles.
  • Global Financial Leadership (Consolidation, MIS & Reporting)
  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting for global hospitality portfolio across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reporting for Board and stakeholders.
  • Lead global P&L management, cash flow optimization, and balance sheet integrity.
  • Implement standardized financial controls, accounting policies, and ERP systems across all properties.
  • Drive forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across regions and asset classes.
  • Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP as applicable).
  • Capital Allocation, Investment Strategy & Value Creation
  • Lead capital allocation strategy across existing assets and new developments.
  • Evaluate investment proposals using robust financial modeling (NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity analysis).
  • Optimize capital structure for the hospitality portfolio (debt, equity, JV structures).
  • Recommend dividend policies, refinancing strategies, and asset monetization opportunities.
  • Drive enterprise value creation through strategic financial planning and portfolio optimization.
  • M&A, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
  • Lead global M&A transactions, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments in hospitality sector.
  • Identify and evaluate new market entry opportunities and expansion strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with leading global hotel operators, management companies, and institutional investors.
  • Negotiate and structure hotel management agreements (HMA), franchise agreements, and operating contracts.
  • Oversee due diligence processes (financial, operational, legal) for all transactions.
  • Joint Ventures (JV) & Board Representation
  • Represent ownership interests in Joint Venture Boards and Strategic Committees.
  • Provide financial leadership and governance oversight in JV structures.
  • Ensure alignment of JV operations with overall group financial and strategic objectives.
  • Participate in Board-level discussions on performance, strategy, capital deployment, and risk.
  • Manage relationships with co-investors, sovereign funds, private equity partners, and family offices.
  • Operator & Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Manage executive-level relationships with top-tier global hospitality operators (luxury and ultra-luxury brands).
  • Ensure operator accountability on financial and operational KPIs.
  • Resolve commercial and contractual issues with management companies.
  • Drive collaboration between asset owners and operators for optimal performance outcomes.
  • Act as primary financial interface between ownership group and operating partners.
  • Risk Management, Compliance & Governance
  • Establish enterprise-wide financial risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee tax structuring, regulatory compliance, and cross-border financial governance.
  • Ensure adherence to audit requirements and internal control systems.
  • Manage exposure to FX, interest rate, and geopolitical risks affecting global assets.
  • Lead internal and external audit coordination processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant / CPA / CFA / MBA (Finance or related discipline) from a top-tier institution
  • 15–25+ years of experience in:
  • Hospitality finance / asset management OR
  • Real estate investment / private equity (hospitality exposure preferred)
  • Strong global exposure across multi-country portfolios
  • Proven track record in:
  • Hotel asset management
  • M&A transactions
  • JV structuring
  • Luxury hospitality operations finance
  • Deep understanding of hospitality KPIs and operator models
