The Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the organization's compliance framework to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, statutory requirements, internal policies, and procedures
Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance management program across the organization.
- Identify and assess existing and emerging regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to the institution.
- Prepare and execute an annual compliance action plan aligned with the organization's risk profile and strategic objectives.
- Periodically review and update compliance plans, policies, and procedures to reflect regulatory and business changes.
- Supervise and monitor the effectiveness of the compliance program and recommend improvements where required.
- Provide strategic compliance advice and guidance to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, statutory obligations, regulatory standards, and internal policies
- Prepare and submit clear, concise, and timely compliance reports to Senior Management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
- Provide periodic assurance to Senior Management and the Board regarding the effectiveness of compliance policies and procedures.
- Escalate significant compliance issues, breaches, irregularities, and risks to the appropriate governance bodies
- Coordinate compliance activities related to internal audits, external audits, regulatory inspections, and examinations
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or Governance are preferred (e.g., CRCM, ICA, CAMS, CCEP, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, governance, internal audit, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
- Experience dealing with regulators, auditors, and senior management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance principles.
