EAL-Student Support Assistant
The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to join our EAL Team. This is a support role within a well-established, collaborative, and highly successful team in a thriving and expanding school. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the EAL Coordinator and Head of Inclusion, providing support to students with English as an Additional Language and contributing to their academic progress and wellbeing.

About The Role
The Student Support Assistant will work closely with class teachers, the EAL Coordinator, and the Head of Inclusion to provide individual and small-group support, adapting resources and strategies to meet learners' needs. The role involves monitoring pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the development and review of Individual EAL Plans and support programmes. The successful candidate will foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting confidence, independence, and effective communication. They will also contribute to the wider work of the school by participating in meetings, collaborating with the EAL team, and strengthening links between home and school. Successful candidates will be fluent English language speakers. Fluency in an additional language would be an advantage.
