Evaluator for the Middle East & North Africa - Home & Air Care Category
An Evaluator with the global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and a member of our Fragrance Consumer Products Development team focussing on Home & Air Care Category for the exciting Middle East & North Africa markets while being based in our regional hub and Creative Centre in Dubai - Your future position?
Due to a vacancy within the team we are now recruiting for a Fragrance Evaluator to focus on our Fabric & Home Care categories in our Regional Fragrance Creative Centre in Dubai. You will be a part of our regional Fragrance Consumer Products Development team and focus on customers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets, which will be countries from Egypt in Africa to the Levant, the Gulf, Iran, and Pakistan in South Asia. The role will directly report to the Creative Fragrance Manager and offers excellent opportunities for your personal and professional development.
Our CFM's and Evaluator's are olfactive development specialists whose primary goal is to guide Perfumers in the fragrance development process. To do so, CFM's and Evaluator's have a strategic view and analyse current olfactive trends, forecast future trends, and assess consumer preferences. You will be working alongside the Fabric & Home care CFM's to help guide the fragrance development process alongside Key Account Managers, Perfumers, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Research, and Laboratory experts.

Core Responsibilities
Evaluation Projects
- Responsible for briefs relating to a category/country/region or customer under CFM supervision
- Contribute to winning briefs by selecting suitable fragrances to meet customer needs
- Understanding regional marketing trends and applying them to fragrance development.
- Participating in proactive Development projects
- Collaborate directly with Perfumers to develop fragrance themes
- Follow and understand Givaudan Best Practices
- Interact with sales colleagues throughout the project process in order to ensure meeting of customer requirements
- Collaborate with relevant marketing colleagues for trends information and internal and client presentations
Olfactory & Evaluation Expertise
- Applying Raw Material understanding to the fragrance development process
- Ability to build and incorporate basic understanding of consumer olfactory preferences into fragrance evaluation
- Willingness to develop competent knowledge of fragrance applications across categories and reactions/interactions across different bases
- Basic understanding of industry and sales landscape for country, segment, category, or specific geographic area, including competitors and regulatory guidelines
- Knowledge of fragrance products, general market dynamics and trends
- Local market knowledge
- Olfactory consumer understanding in consumer products fragrance categories
- Good understanding of project brief process and functional interfaces processes at local and regional level; acknowledging own responsibilities into broader goals
- Ability to effectively lead all required functional steps in the brief handling processes
- Ability to build knowledge of customers' products and processes
- Interface with clients as needed under supervision, starting to build customer intimacy and mutual respect
- Basic knowledge of CMI testing protocols and procedures
- Ability to quickly grasp and apply Givaudan internal tools and other systems to effectively answer customer briefs
- At ease with digital solutions
- A Bachelor's or university degree in a relevant discipline.
- A passion for the world of fragrances.
- 3+ years of experience in evaluation
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages like Arabic will be advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Competent olfactory skills: ability to define, recognize and memorize olfactory notes and fragrance language terms and determine olfactory directions (to be assessed by standardized olfactory test).
- Ability to create and make presentations for fragrance submissions
