Summary:
The role of a Network Engineer is primarily focused on managing and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance, which is critical for supporting ongoing IT projects and operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Location: UAE – Abu Dhabi. Frequent travel to client sites required within UAE. Must have own car and a valid driving license.
The role of a Network Engineer is primarily focused on managing and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance, which is critical for supporting ongoing IT projects and operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network systems, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Perform network configuration and upgrades in line with company requirements and industry best practices.
- Respond to network issues and outages, providing efficient solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to deploy network solutions for various projects.
- Assist in planning network capacity, ensuring scalability and redundancy for future growth.
- Provide network documentation, including topology, IP addresses, and detailed configuration.
- Maintain and optimize existing network systems, recommending and implementing improvements.
- Conduct regular system checks and performance evaluations.
- Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Travel to client sites for network installations, troubleshooting, and support activities (travel required within UAE).
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), and experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
- Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
