Officer, Safety

Penspen is hiring a skilled Officer, Safety to join PMC projects in Abu Dhabi. The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring day-to-day site safety compliance and supporting the implementation of HSE policies and procedures in line with client standards, client requirements, and local regulations. The role focuses on monitoring site activities, identifying hazards, and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE procedures and ADNOC standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and report unsafe acts/conditions.
• Assist in risk assessments and ensure control measures are implemented.
• Enforce Permit to Work (PTW) system for all high-risk activities.
• Supervise and ensure safe execution of activities such as work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, and hot work.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety requirements.
• Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; assist in investigations.
• Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, workers, and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Support emergency response activities and drills.

Qualification / Experience (Skills):

• Diploma in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in Oil & Gas (5) years in in GCC region.
• Must have at least Five (5) years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects
• Middle East/ADNOC project experience is highly desirable.
• NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent certifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and work in a dynamic site environment.
