Overview
This role sits within the portfolio operations team and is focused on supporting the Portfolio Division in ensuring the group's investment portfolio enables the execution of its long-term strategy from an integrated value chain perspective. The position contributes to the development of the annual Group Portfolio view, covering current and aspired portfolio composition, financial and operational performance, benchmarking, production profiles, and major investment risks and returns. It also plays a central role in supporting decision-making around major investments through detailed review of Management Investment Committee and Group Company Board submissions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide analysis to address key portfolio questions across affordability, deliverability, risk, and market dynamics.
- portfolio operations team identification and definition of the aspired portfolio and integrated investment programme in line with group strategy.
- portfolio operations team prioritisation, ranking, and capital ceiling setting for the investment programme.
- Contribute to the development of the annual Corporate Calendar covering strategy, planning, portfolio, and performance.
- portfolio operations team the development and rollout of asset performance benchmarking mechanisms.
- Provide input and analysis on costing exercises across various products within the portfolio.
- Produce integrated economics to assess investment impacts across the group's value chain.
- Ensure the prioritised investment programme is accurately reflected in the Business Plan.
- Continuously maintain and update the repository of key portfolio data and metrics.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct ad-hoc portfolio analysis as required.
- Review Management Investment Committee submissions to assess strategic fit, value creation, reasonableness of assumptions, and overall portfolio alignment.
- Monitor robustness and adherence to governance processes relating to the Management Investment Committee and its subcommittees.
- Provide input to briefing notes for senior leadership on investment committee submissions and company board materials.
- Engage with Finance, Legal, and other relevant stakeholders in the review of investment submissions.

- Review and challenge assumptions across different business case scenarios including low, base, and high cases.
- Conduct detailed assessments of financial modelling, including analysis of historic and projected cash flows and measures of return and valuation such as IRR, NPV, and payback period.
- portfolio operations team key initiatives and projects related to the mandates of senior group leadership and relevant government entities.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Management, Finance, or Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of nine years of experience in a relevant field.
- Strong financial modelling skills with demonstrated ability to assess investment returns, valuations, and cash flow analysis.
- Experience in portfolio analysis, investment governance, or corporate strategy within a large or complex organisation.
- Familiarity with investment committee processes and governance frameworks.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to build effective cross-functional working relationships across finance, legal, and operational teams.
