WSP in the Middle East is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team in Dubai, providing technical leadership on major building developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring structural works are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, international standards, and local authority requirements.
- Lead the supervision of structural works on large-scale building projects.
- Review and approve structural shop drawings, calculations, method statements, material submittals, and temporary works proposals.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor quality and progress.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and client representatives.
- Review contractor requests for information (RFIs), inspections, and technical submissions.
- Identify non-conformances and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Support the Resident Engineer in progress monitoring, reporting, and technical issue resolution.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities relating to structural systems.
- Mentor and guide site inspectors and junior engineers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 12–15 years of post-graduate experience.
- Minimum 8 years' experience on building construction supervision projects in the GCC.
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
- Experience reviewing structural calculations and temporary works.
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, and other relevant authority requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Membership of a recognized professional engineering body is desirable
