Test Technician

Job Summary

BASEC, part of the Kiwa UK group, is seeking a Test Technician to join their team based in Dubai. In this role, you’ll perform Mechanical, Electrical (M&E), and Chemical testing within defined competencies and authorisations, ensuring we deliver first-class quality testing services to our clients.

About The Role

• Collaborate with colleagues, the Lead Test Engineer, and Lab Administration team to schedule and manage testing.
• Check the performance and calibration status of test equipment, ensuring compliance with required specifications.
• Conduct M&E and Chemical testing independently, once competent.
• Provide updates to the Lead Test Engineer/Lab Administration team on test progress, delays, or non-compliances.
• Assist in the maintenance and operation of the lab, lab equipment and testing processes.
• Manage workload effectively and collaborate with colleagues to optimise lab resources.
• Adhere to quality, safety, and legislative requirements within the lab.
• Support internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  
  

Do you have what it takes?

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a testing laboratory or engineering environment.
• Proficiency in using laboratory testing tools and instrumentation.
• Experience with electric cable testing is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset with a strong work ethic.
  
  

What can you expect from us in return?

• Salary AED 108,000 – 112,000 per annum
• 45 hours per week - This is a lab-based role, located in Dubai
