Line Of Service Overview

At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.

Business Unit Overview

In indirect tax at PwC, you will focus value-added tax (VAT). Your work will involve providing supporting clients on indirect tax compliance, planning and strategy, helping businesses meet their VAT obligations and optimise their indirect tax positions.

You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team member’s unique strengths, managing performance and to deliver on client expectations. With your growing knowledge of how business works, you play an important role in identifying opportunities that contribute to the success of our Firm.

What You’ll Bring

Examples of the skills, knowledge, and experiences you need to lead and deliver value at this level include but are not limited to:

  • 5-6 years of UAE VAT experience, with focus on managing VAT compliance and advisory matters for real estate and hospitality sector.
  • Effectively manage client relationships to support end-to-end delivery of VAT return compliance and advisory engagements.
  • Demonstrate experience using data and analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, etc.) to support and enhance VAT compliance deliverables.
  • Apply structured thinking to break down complex issues, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Understand the broader objectives of the engagement and how your work contributes to overall project outcomes and strategy.
  • Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards (including referring to relevant PwC tax/audit guidance), the Firm’s code of conduct, and independence requirements.
  • Partner with team leadership to ensure collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop skills outside your comfort zone, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Effectively mentor others.
  • Use the review of work as an opportunity to deepen the expertise of team members.
  • Address conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with clients, team members and other stakeholders, escalating where appropriate.
  • Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards (e.g. refer to specific PwC tax and audit guidance), the Firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements.
