We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Supervisor with strong knowledge in alcohol service and café operations. The ideal candidate will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and customer satisfaction. In addition, they will manage a team, ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations, and assist with inventory and supply management. A strong understanding of café culture and drink preparation is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Daily Operations:
    • Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of the restaurant floor.
    • Ensure the smooth running of the restaurant, overseeing staff, operations, and customer interactions.
    • Maintain a high level of food and beverage quality, including overseeing food presentation, preparation, and service.
  • Alcohol and Beverage Management:
    • Ensure responsible alcohol service according to local laws and regulations.
    • Oversee the bar, ensuring an organized, efficient, and clean environment.
    • Have knowledge of various alcoholic beverages, cocktails, wine pairings, and their preparation methods.
    • Manage alcohol inventory, order supplies, and track consumption to prevent over-pouring and minimize waste.
    • Assist in designing drink menus and training staff on proper alcohol service techniques.
  • Café and Coffee Knowledge:
    • Maintain and promote café culture, ensuring an exceptional experience for guests ordering coffee and specialty beverages.
    • Oversee the preparation of high-quality espresso-based drinks, specialty teas, and other café offerings.
    • Train and monitor staff in proper brewing, pouring, and drink preparation techniques, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that all guests have an excellent dining experience.
    • Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and efficiently.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regular and new customers.
  • Staff Management and Training:
    • Supervise and support the front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and baristas.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to improve service standards, product knowledge, and safety protocols.
    • Schedule shifts for staff, ensuring proper coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
    • Lead by example, promoting a positive work environment and motivating the team.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure all food safety regulations and health standards are met and maintained.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, including the dining room, bar, kitchen, and restroom areas.
    • Adhere to all local alcohol and health safety regulations.
  • Inventory and Ordering:
    • Monitor stock levels of food, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and café supplies.
    • Place orders for inventory and supplies as needed, ensuring minimal waste and effective cost management.
    • Assist in maintaining an efficient inventory system, tracking usage, and forecasting needs.
  • Sales and Financial Oversight:
    • Assist in monitoring financial performance, helping to meet revenue targets.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of promotional activities to drive sales, including happy hours, special events, and seasonal offerings.
    • Help control costs and maximize profits by maintaining budgeted targets.
Qualifications

  • -Proven experience as a restaurant supervisor or in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
  • -Strong knowledge and understanding of alcohol service, bar management, and responsible alcohol consumption.
  • -Familiarity with café operations, including espresso machines, coffee brewing techniques, and specialty beverage preparation.
  • -Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate a team.
  • -Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • -Knowledge of food safety, health regulations, and alcohol laws.
  • -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • -High school diploma or equivalent (Additional certifications related to alcohol service and food safety are a plus).
  • -Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
