Overview Of The Role

• An Architect - Design supports the Development & Design department by engaging in design ideation and research tasks during the project origination, pre-concept, and concept stages. This role involves site analysis, typology modeling, site zoning strategies, space planning, and facade studies. An architect in this role typically manages multiple short-term projects and is responsible for developing innovative design solutions and presentations for executive stakeholders. Success factors include delivering high-quality design outputs on time and actively applying design-thinking methodologies.
  
  

What You Will Do

Design Research

• Support research into relevant topics related to physical environments, including building typologies, architectural details, materials and finishes, focusing on user experience.
• Investigate city design topics such as master planning, urban fabric, smart city technologies, advanced mobility, sustainability, thermal comfort, and public realm art.
• Ensure timely completion of research tasks, aligned with project deadlines.
• Organize and document research materials for team accessibility.
  
  

Design Ideation and Studies

• Employ a rigorous design-thinking methodology for problem-solving, ideation, prototyping, and testing solutions.
• Conduct rapid scenario modeling for site zoning, space planning, and massing with high-quality diagrams and 3D models.
• Create design scenarios related to user experience using collages, 3D renders, and mood boards for master planning and architectural studies.
• Develop various design components, including facades and custom public realm furnishings, and build simple models to represent design criteria.
• Prepare summary presentations for executive stakeholders as required.
• Deliver design studies, diagrams, models, and presentations on time, maintaining accuracy and creativity.
  
  

Design Brief Development

• Contribute to the development of a detailed design brief, including product objectives, project descriptions, and technical criteria.
• Ensure timely collation of background information and documents relevant to the design brief.
• Align design inputs with project objectives and technical criteria, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  
  

Site Assessments

• Perform in-depth site analysis, including context and benchmark references, with high-quality diagrams and graphics.
• Prepare programmatic assessments and quantitative studies, presenting them with tables and graphs.
• Ensure timely preparation of site analysis diagrams and illustrations consistent with project timelines.
• Document and support site assessment stages with accuracy and clarity.

What Qualifies You For The Role

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in architecture or similar field.
• 2-4 years of experience in design roles, particularly in conceptual design studies with reputable consultants or developers.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Suite, and 3D software like SketchUp, Rhino, and Grasshopper.
• Strong graphical and presentation skills, with an understanding of engineering and statutory requirements. Emphasis on process-oriented design.
