Job Description – Area Manager

Tradeling.com, a Dubai government-funded startup, set up in September 2019 and operated by Blink Technologies FZCO, headquartered at the Dubai Airport Free Zone, UAE, is intended to become the dominant B2B marketplace for the MENA region by simplifying and enhancing digital B2B trade through a centralized, digital, and safe procurement platform. It will offer value-added services including finance and logistics. Launched in Q1 of 2020, with multiple categories ranging from office supplies, food and beverage, and health and wellness, Tradeling thrives by innovating on behalf of our customers.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Area Manager to join our Fulfillment Center Operations team. This role is based in the UAE and reports to the FC Operations Manager. As the Area Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence within the fulfillment center, ensuring the achievement of KPIs, and improving operational practices. You will oversee critical outbound operations and contribute to cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvements across the organization.

  • Manage Outbound Operations: Oversee the entire outbound process, including order picking, packing, and shipping to ensure adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop outbound associates to achieve performance goals. Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and maintain high levels of motivation.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve outbound workflows, aiming to optimize speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Implement best practices to reduce errors and delays.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory control teams to ensure products are available for order fulfillment and manage the flow of items from storage to outbound areas.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control standards for packaging, labeling, and shipping to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • KPIs and Reporting: Track key performance metrics (e.g., order accuracy, shipping time, and productivity) and report on progress to senior management. Use data to drive decisions for operational improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with other departments (e.g., inbound, customer service, product, ICQA, HR) to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations across the fulfillment center.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the outbound area adheres to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Problem Resolution: Address operational issues such as shipping delays, inventory discrepancies, or customer complaints promptly.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technologies to track order progress, improve workflow, and ensure accurate shipping.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fulfillment or warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role. Experience working in F&B, fashion, and soft-lines warehouses is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing staff.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: High focus on accuracy, ensuring all orders are correctly packed and shipped on time.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, other departments, and external partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office; knowledge of data analysis tools is a plus.
