Jacobs
Date: 6 days ago
City: Abu Dhabi
Contract type: Full time

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
The Operations Management and Facility Services (OMFS) group performs Operations and Maintenance (O&M), facilities management, and asset-management services for state and local government and private customers across the People and Places (PPS) Line of Business. The APACME OMFS group is a service centre to the wider Jacobs APACME business, and we're looking for an experienced Asset Specialist, with water/waste water expertise to join our growing team.
As an Asset Management Specialist Consultant within OMFS, you won’t just be delivering projects—you’ll be shaping the future of how cities, utilities, and industries operate and thrive.
You’ll be the go-to expert working closely with key clients to design and implement asset management strategies that make a real difference. From water and wastewater systems to complex built environments, your work will ensure essential services run smoothly, sustainably, and smartly. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team of professionals across APACME, tapping into global best practices while tailoring solutions to local needs.
Your days will be filled with variety - leading condition assessments, analyzing O&M data, crafting long-term maintenance strategies, and helping clients unlock the full potential of their assets. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring others, developing training programs, and supporting the growth of our OMFS services across the region.
Here's what you'll need
To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid academic background in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, complemented by 7+ years of practical experience in water asset management and the development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
Experience working with water or waste water utility infrastructure is essential, along with a strong understanding of the operational challenges and performance requirements of such systems.
In addition to technical proficiency, you will demonstrate strategic thinking, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, working closely with clients. You should be capable of working independently in both client-facing and remote environments, and be committed to continuous improvement and innovation in asset management practices.
The Following Qualifications And Experiences Are Required
Travel to our clients and work overseas on short consultancy assignments and support in drafting proposals from time to time may also be required.
From our inclusive employee networks to our positive mental health champions – we’re committed to driving a culture of caring where you can be you. Joining Jacobs not only connects you locally but globally - and together, our diverse perspectives and unique backgrounds power our collective strength. We collaborate and share! By supporting one another, we all succeed.
With safety and flexibility always top of mind, we’ve gone beyond traditional ways of working so you have the support, means and space to maximize your potential. You’ll uncover flexible working arrangements, benefits and opportunities to do good too – from participating in our global giving and volunteering program, to exploring new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.
No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture and achieve your goals – all at a single global company.
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
Your application experience is important to us, and we’re keen to adapt to make every interaction even better. If you require further support or reasonable adjustments with regards to the recruitment process (for example, you require the application form in a different format), please contact the team via Careers Support.
