Job Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Commercial to support business development initiatives, drive commercial growth, and maintain strong client relationships within the regional market, particularly in the Ras Al Khaimah region. This individual contributor role involves analyzing commercial data, identifying business opportunities, developing proposals, negotiating deals, and ensuring smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager – Business Development in setting objectives, action plans, and commercial targets.
- Identify value drivers, analyze business data, and evaluate commercial opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Proactively source and secure new business opportunities aligned with current and planned company infrastructure.
- Develop business proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and deliver revenue growth.
- Maintain and expand the existing customer portfolio through strong account and relationship management.
- Represent the company across key industry sectors through client meetings, conferences, and networking activities.
- Liaise with internal teams and service providers to ensure service delivery aligns with customer expectations.
- Work closely with customers to gather accurate forecasting and budget information for business planning.
- Identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization across existing and new customer sectors.
- Gather and communicate market intelligence to provide a competitive advantage.
- Monitor market conditions, particularly freight levels, and update customers on changes affecting operations.
- Support the development of support staff competency through professional development guidance.
- Prepare periodic business performance reports and updates for the Manager – Commercial.
- Coordinate with other business units to explore joint commercial opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment standards.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the reporting manager.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in Logistics or Freight Forwarding is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of commercial planning, business development, and market analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage client relationships and secure new business.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret market data, pricing trends, and operational metrics.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple commercial priorities.
- Knowledge of the region's market dynamics, particularly within the logistics sector.
