Your mission

As Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (Cable) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising civil works related to underground cable projects. You will ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with contract documents, drawings, method statements, and safety requirements. Your role will involve site inspections, contractor coordination, and support in final project handover.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of civil works for underground cable projects.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor contractor performance.
  • Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with approved method statements, drawings, and layouts.
  • Witness site activities and testing to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the Resident Engineer in carrying out final inspections, certification of completion, and handover of works.
  • Ensure proper implementation of site safety measures.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in civil engineering projects in the UAE, including underground cable works.

  • Strong technical knowledge of civil works for cable laying and related infrastructure.
  • Skilled in site supervision, contractor coordination, and review of technical submissions.
  • Familiar with UAE authority standards and utility requirements.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

Preference

  • Prior experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities will be highly preferred.
