Job Purpose

To coach and assist allocated teams and team members in performing baggage related activities on shift. The Baggage Services Agent supports the Team Leader to ensure compliance to relevant Aviation Security regulations and that all team members are providing the best services and optimum quality to the customers, in line with dnata standards.

In This Role You Well

  • Deploy
  • Coordinates with allocated team and resources to ensure that the area?s concerned processes and activity are completed within the time required for operations on shift
  • Lead
  • Ensures safety of staff and guides them to work safely by providing support, direction, whilst being a role model for the desired safety behaviours and leading with safety
  • Organizes and supervises the work of a small team on the day of operations to ensure that work is completed efficiently and in compliance with procedures and service standards. Coordinate with different operational areas as and when required.
  • Ensures that all equipment and devices allocated to the team are used and cared for appropriately
  • Execute
  • Ensure all baggage is reconciled and loaded to the right flight so that the passengers, crew and aircraft are safe.
  • Engaged in the loading of baggage, as core component of the loading team for the allocated flights on the baggage belts & chutes.
  • Operates GSE within baggage area.
  • Ensure all baggage are treated with respect and handled in timely manner.
  • Monitor all systems related to Baggage Operations and act on BELT alerts advising that baggage has discharged and not been loaded within the set timelines.
  • Intervenes and takes immediate action when there is risk exposure, role models safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions
  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Ensures implementation of work instructions on the day of operations and compliance to established standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures that staff grooming is aligned to dnata standards and requirements
  • Escalates issues to the Team Leader or Duty Officers on shift to ensure that the proper corrective measures are followed up on
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation for the shift in the assigned area

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Qualifications: High School (Minimum of 10 years of schooling required)
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in business administration / aviation / ground handling / customer service
  • English Language Skills Level 4
  • UAE Driving license
  • Valid license for operating equipment (ADP, TTR)
  • Basic understanding of the flight operations terminology.
  • Basic understanding of Local / International, aviation safety and security requirements.
  • Able to meet the criteria of physical fitness for the role including continuous handling and loading of baggage and ability to manoeuvre equipment including ULD?s, trollies and dollies
  • Proficient IT skills and computer literate
  • Proficient Safety Awareness Skills
