We are offering you the opportunity to become DSV Road Freight’s Business Development Manager based in Dubai. As part of one of the most successful transport and logistics companies in the world you will be responsible for delivering on growth targets & establishing a strategic direction to exceed budget and further grow DSV’s presence in Dubai.

Reporting to the Director – Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible to identify, develop, support, and directly participate in the business development of the Road Freight business in Dubai. Growing the sales revenue and developing profitable business in the focus industry verticals is key. Working towards achieving agreed sales targets to strengthen market position by locating, developing, defining, promoting, negotiating, and securing new business by closing the sale.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities & convert opportunities into revenue in line with the set individual sales targets.
  • Identify potential strategic opportunities by researching market / industry and keeping a close eye on key developments in the region to achieve the sales plan.
  • Using the knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Plan and execute a growth plan with prime focus on Road Freight in line with country’s sales strategy for Road.
  • Ensure end-to-end account profitability of your portfolio along with overall business growth.
  • Create key customer/channel business plans and achieve sales account goals.
  • Build and maintain a solid and active pipeline in the CRM in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure visit targets for new business opportunities are achieved.
  • Actively manage new proposals through presentation, proposal submission, negotiation until business closure stage.
  • Remain as the main point of communication contact between new clients onboarded and the internal departments, in support of client’s road freight needs.
  • Ensure all requirements of the client’s business is understood and clearly addressed such as to have a clear scope of work defined prior to onboarding new clients.
  • Work closely with product heads (and/or, delegates) and support functions (Legal, IT, Government, and others) to ensure contracts are in line with DSV guidelines.
  • Where applicable ensure SOPs / KPIs are formalized on time in line with business go-live date.
  • Ensure correct credit applications are submitted where required as per the DSV credit application process.
  • Maintain healthy DSO for your clients and make sure payments are being made on time.
  • Adhere to all global sales policies, processes, and guidelines.
  • Any other related duties/projects assigned by direct line manager / department manager from time to time that align with business objectives.

Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years recent work-related experience in Road Freight.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic and tactical plans in a large and dynamic sales environment.
  • Result-orientated, self-starter who has a good understanding of the logistics industry with strong awareness of the local market.
  • Excellent interpersonal & administration skills with accurate pipeline forecasting.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the business with good persuasive and negotiation skills.
  • Driving success using initiative, determination & persistent.
  • Directing people & able to empower the individuals.
  • Shows initiative & has an innovative mind-set.
  • Ability to define requirements, analyse facts, and determine relevant solutions/actions to be taken.
  • Extrovert personality with strong relationship building capabilities proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
