CAD Executive - Exhibition and Conferences

Job Purpose

This is a unique role operating as the CAD Executive for our dmg energy events in UAE across the portfolio. The primary purpose is creating 2D floorplans compliant with venue regulations, operational H&S guidelines, maximising sales opportunity on the floorplans, creating various options of layouts and offering guidance and feedback, managing layers in a systematic way.

Key Accountabilities

Project Management

• Manage the timelines and deadlines for milestones within the event cycle.
• Effectively support the planning and successfully delivery of all floorplan elements for Energy events, from initial floor plan creation to maintenance and consolidation.
• Create an approval and sign off process internally.
• Maintain a systematic approach to saving versions on sharepoint.
  
  

Design and Production

• Successfully work with design platforms and technology to ensure quality of work is to a high professional standard.
• Excellent use of AutoCAD, managing and simplifying layers and creating a key that can be used across all floor plans.
• Creating templates for use amongst the event teams of room and feature layouts.
• Creating versions of layouts in CAD on request of new features or events.
• Onsite measurements of the site during the build period, maintaining the masterplan accurately, where required.
• Create 2D designs for signage where necessary.
• File all relevant documentation on the shared drive.
• Assist the wider operations team with adhoc tasks where needed.
• Creating options for conference layouts as requested.
  
  

Event Knowledge

• Gain knowledge of the venues and signage locations as well as understand how to navigate people from one place to the other.
• Stay up to date on the allocated event branding, the brand guidelines and how best it can be utilised.
  
  

Communication

• Ensure professional and timely manner of communication.
• Communicate in advance any challenges you may foresee.
• Provide feedback and suggestions using your expertise.
• Work with external suppliers to ensure measurements and locations are correct.
• Attend team meetings where required.
• Attend events onsite as required.
  
  

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Key requirements for the role

• 2+ experience in conferences and/or exhibitions.
• Professional use of AutoCAD
• 2D design experience essential, 2D and 3D preferable.
• Software Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 3D max (would be great but not a must), Monday.com/smartsheet.
• Creative imagination.
• Able and willing to travel to countries in MENA region if required
• Pro-active and able to take responsibility.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a busy, fast-paced, and agile environment.
• Good team player: able to work well in a team.
• Organised and methodical, with high attention to detail.
• Good at multitasking and working on different events/projects at the same time.
