Job Vacancy: Chief Accountant Location: ICAD - 2, Mussafah , Abu Dhabi, UAE
Company: Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASME) ASME, a leading player in the marine and industrial engineering sector, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief Accountant to join our finance team.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the finalization of accounts and ensure timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books.
Lead the preparation of financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.
Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance indicators.
Oversee project accounting and cost control, including budget tracking, billing, and profitability analysis.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT filings, audits, and other statutory reports.
Work closely with project managers and operational teams to provide financial insights and analysis for ongoing and new projects.
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government authorities as required.
Ensure strong internal controls, risk management, and compliance with company policies.
Supervise and mentor junior accountants, supporting continuous improvement and professional growth.
Requirements: Professional accounting qualification: CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in the Gulf region.
Industry experience in engineering, construction, marine, or project-based environments is highly preferred.
Strong command of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS, budgeting techniques, cost analysis, and project financials.
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, Presentation skills.
Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and lead a small finance team effectively.
