Chief Engineer

Main Purpose

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the management of the engineering department and its activities to ensure optimal operational effectiveness as well as to promote a safe environment across the resort’s.

The Chief Engineer will actively participate in the development and coordination of preventive maintenance measures related to Guest rooms, public areas, back of the house as well as for mechanical equipment and the building system.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will also be responsible to ensure that the resort’s premises and its building systems are adequately maintained to the best possible standards to preserve its maximum value and extend the asset life of the property.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education or Degree level majoring Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent qualifications.
• Qualifications in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design will be an advantage.
• Postgraduate qualifications would be a definite advantage.
  
  

Previous Performance

• A minimum of 10 years of working experience in the hospitality industry at senior managerial position in the engineering field.
• A minimum of 5 years of working experience as Head of Engineering department.
• A minimum of 3 years of working experience as Chief Engineer in United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a must.
• Excellent command of process control techniques and maintenance procedures and related technologies.
• Prior experience with regulatory and documentation requirements related to engineering codes and standards.
• Robust experience in Hotels/Resorts/Property preopening and project management.

• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• A clean certificate of character is a must.
