Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and present bakery items (breads, rolls, croissants, Danish pastries, etc.) according to hotel recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in the creation and innovation of bakery menus, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all bakery items and ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the bakery section at all times.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs and work harmoniously with the pastry and kitchen team.
- Monitor baking temperatures and times to produce consistent quality.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers with care.
- Ensure mise en place is prepared for the daily bakery operations.
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and requisitioning of ingredients when needed.
- Adhere to HACCP and hotel safety protocols.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5-star hotel or upscale bakery.
- Diploma or certificate in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
