What you'll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

• You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and processing of meats according to the hotel's standards and recipes, to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• This role involves cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meats (such as beef, poultry and seafood).
• You’ll also be required to the adherence of hygiene and safety regulations, maintenance of inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness of the butchery area. The Commis 1 Butcher works under the supervision of the Head Butcher and may also assist in creating menu items. This role demands precision, skill in using butchery tools, and a commitment to delivering high-quality ingredients for the hotel's culinary offerings

• The Commis 1 role values expertise in sausage making, smoking of products, and charcuterie. These skills are highly desirable, although on-the-job training will also be provided.

• You have a talent for preparing sausages, smoking various products, and creating charcuterie.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
• English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language. Additional languages such as Hindi, Dutch/Afrikaans & Arabic are welcomed.
