Commis II - InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi

This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary enthusiast to work in a luxurious hotel environment, assisting in the preparation of exceptional dishes for our esteemed guests.

As a Commis II, you will play an essential role in supporting the kitchen team by assisting with food preparation, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene, and ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Assist in the preparation of food items according to the daily menu and special requests.
• Follow established recipes and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of ingredients and products.
• Prepare and cook items as per the chef’s instructions and maintain a high level of presentation.
• Assist with the daily mise en place to ensure all ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to all hygiene and safety standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and plating standards.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including senior chefs and fellow Commis, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Contribute to the stock rotation process and report any shortages or issues to the senior chefs.
  
  

What we need from you:

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or fine dining restaurant is preferred.
• Skills: Good knowledge of kitchen procedures, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Education: Culinary school graduate or equivalent qualifications are desirable
