Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and board-certified Consultant Cardiac Transplant Surgeon to join a leading cardiac center in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will bring advanced surgical expertise in heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and complex cardiac procedures, contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on life-saving care and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly experienced and board-certified Consultant Cardiac Transplant Surgeon to join a leading cardiac center in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will bring advanced surgical expertise in heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and complex cardiac procedures, contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on life-saving care and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform heart transplant surgeries, including donor evaluation, organ procurement, and recipient procedures
- Manage pre- and post-operative care for transplant patients, including immunosuppressive therapy and long-term follow-up
- Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and transplant coordinators to ensure seamless patient care
- Evaluate and manage patients with end-stage heart failure, including LVAD and ECMO support
- Participate in transplant selection committees and contribute to protocol development
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, fellows, and medical staff
- Contribute to clinical research, publications, and international transplant forums
- Ensure compliance with national and international transplant regulations and ethical standards
- Medical degree from a recognized institution
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery with subspecialty training in Cardiac Transplantation
- Minimum 7–10 years of post-specialization experience, including significant exposure to transplant cases
- Proven expertise in mechanical circulatory support and complex cardiac procedures
- Eligibility for licensing with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
- Western training preferred (US, UK, Canada, Europe)
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
