We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon with expertise in Acute Care Surgery to join a leading hospital in Jeddah. The role involves managing complex surgical emergencies, performing elective and trauma-related procedures, and contributing to clinical leadership, education, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert surgical care for acute abdominal, trauma, and general surgical conditions.
Perform emergency and elective procedures including laparotomies, hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, and bowel resections.
Lead the acute surgical response team and participate in trauma resuscitation and operative management.
Collaborate with emergency medicine, ICU, radiology, and other specialties for multidisciplinary care.
Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and junior staff.
Participate in surgical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and CME activities.
Ensure compliance with SCFHS standards and hospital protocols.
Contribute to departmental planning, on-call scheduling, and clinical governance.
Qualifications & Experience
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Board Certification in General Surgery (e.g., Saudi Board, Arab Board, American/Canadian/European equivalent).
Fellowship or substantial experience in Acute Care Surgery or Trauma Surgery preferred.
Valid Consultant classification with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Minimum 4–5 years post-board experience in general and emergency surgical care.
Proficiency in laparoscopic and open surgical techniques.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Fluency in English; Arabic is an asset.
