Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Hand Surgery to join a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will manage complex hand and upper extremity conditions using advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques, with a strong focus on patient outcomes and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Hand Surgery to join a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will manage complex hand and upper extremity conditions using advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques, with a strong focus on patient outcomes and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat conditions of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity, including fractures, tendon injuries, nerve compression, arthritis, and congenital anomalies
- Perform surgical procedures such as fracture fixation, tendon and nerve repair, microsurgery, and reconstructive hand surgery
- Utilize minimally invasive and advanced surgical techniques, including endoscopic and robotic-assisted methods
- Provide non-surgical treatments including injections, splinting, and therapy referrals
- Deliver comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure optimal recovery
- Collaborate with plastic surgeons, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists for integrated care
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, and CME activities
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, rehabilitation, and preventive care
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Orthopaedic Surgery (e.g., FRCS, FEBOT, American/Canadian/German Board, or equivalent)
- Fellowship in Hand Surgery or equivalent subspecialty training
- Minimum 5 years of independent practice post-certification
- Proven track record of excellent clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction
- Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi)
- Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills
- Tax-free salary: AED 80,000–90,000/month (commensurate with experience)
