About the role:
Location: Sharjah
Hours: Full Time
Reporting to the Head of Contracts, the Contracts Specialist will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, while also knowing when to seek guidance and support.
This role will involve reviewing, drafting, and negotiating varied contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks to support business operations and goals. You will play a key role in balancing legal requirements with practical business needs, helping to streamline processes, drive efficiency, and maintain the company’s high standards of contract management.
About the team:
As a part of our Contracts team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and diligent team who are used to working to a high standards and are as meticulous about the small details as you can wish to hope for from a Contracts team.
You will be supported by a team in the UK, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable smooth and efficient contract management processes, driving success across various business functions. Collaboration and communication will be key as you work together to ensure that contracts are not only legally sound but also aligned with the company's long-term vision and operational needs.
Based in the UAE and supporting our Eastern Hemisphere region, you’ll also work alongside a dedicated team of Technicians, Operations, Sales and Finance colleagues who are responsible for our success in this region

Responsibilities:
People
- Adopting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
- Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
- Build & maintain relationships with clients and/or potential clients.
- Provide advice, guidance and feedback to stakeholders, at all levels, internally & externally on contract related matters
- Look to provide education & an understanding of contractual matters to colleagues, as and when applicable

- HSEQ – compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and the company’s management system.
Product
- Review, draft and negotiate client terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements and supplier contracts in detail.
- Provide clear and practical advice on contract terms and conditions to internal and external stakeholders in order to resolve disputes / claims / general queries.
- Create and refine Motive’s contract templates to streamline processes and ensure consistency across all agreements – aligning this with the other Motive regions.
- Support the development and negotiation of strategic long-term framework agreements with key clients, ensuring mutually beneficial commercial terms that align with Motive's business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders at the bid / tender stage to ensure that contractual risks are understood in context – including the creation and distribution of detailed risk profiles.
- Support and participate in the negotiation of variation / change requests, proactively identifying areas of risk or opportunity for improvement.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients and suppliers on contractual matters, providing guidance and ensuring clear communication throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Monitor client contracts during their lifecycle to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions and to ensure that key obligations are adhered to.
- Work alongside the Contracts Administrator to maintain organised records of fully executed agreements and associated documentation / approvals via Motive’s contracts library.
- Stay updated on industry standards, legal changes, and best practices to continuously improve contract processes and procedures.
- Participate in contracts training and ongoing development where required
Required skills / knowledge:
- Experience working in a Contract Specialist role in similar industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while recognising when to escalate issues for further support.
- Analytical ability to perform research tasks independently
- Strong computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be well organised and focused on achieving results
- Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints
