Data Center Technician, Engineering Field Services

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience in Hardware, Networking, Operating Systems, Linux, or Project Planning.
• Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with hardware architecture, maintenance and repair. Advanced level Linux skills, including installation, systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of basic topology and protocol.
• Knowledge of Intermediate level Linux, including installation, systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

In this role, you will be part of the team that installs, troubleshoots and maintains hardware infrastructure for Internet facing environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repairs including servers, networking and storage devices, such as replacing hard drives, replace RAM, swap CPUs, motherboards, etc.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolving critical or escalated technical issues over a significant population of affected hardware equipment.
• Contribute and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center servers and network infrastructure.
• Perform active Infrastructure upgrades and decommission end of life equipment as required.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow the site’s environmental health and safety policies.
