EHS Officer (UAE nationals only)

What you will do

EHS Officer is a key role, reporting to Sr. EHS Manager MEA and responsible for overseeing EHS activities across UAE Region. The primary function of an EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) team is to safeguard employees, the environment, and the organization by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks and hazards. EHS Team develop and implement safety protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. You will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be part of a project execution team, and shall be responsible for implementing safety and environmental standards within organization.

As EHS Team member you will be supporting installation and maintenance team at JCI Facilities and work sites. Your role is to support the project teams to ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. This involves in performing proactive measures like hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementing safety protocols, as well as reactive measures like accident investigation and corrective action implementation.

How you will do it

EHS officer’s primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and healthy work environment by conducting safety inspections and audits, establishing and enforcing safety guidelines, ensuring compliance, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining adequate EHS Records. EHS officer play a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety awareness, promoting JCI Zero Harm Vision and Life Saving Rules (LSR) among employees. He shall focus on developing a program preventing accidents, injuries, and illnesses by identifying hazards, developing safety policies & procedure and providing training.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or Environmental Science or Engineering

• Additionally professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA

• Ability to travel

• Result orientated, tenacious, self-motivated, a customer focused

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Fluent language skills in Arabic & English
