Be part of our team as an Electrical Layout Engineer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

What are my responsibilities?

• Based on the mechanical layout and drive list, create single line diagrams, 400v/24v power calculations & dimensioning of the system to ensure that rules of voltage drop, short circuit current and selectivity are fulfilled.
• Analyze the tender specification and design drawings, generate SAP and BOQs, and order the materials needed for the electrical installation according to the approved material submittals.
• Based on the project requirements, create detailed design layouts and wiring diagrams using ePLAN with pre-defined templates that comply with industrial practices and international standards such as EN, BS, DEWA, SASO, etc.
• Create and manage projects with REVIT software for detailed design of layouts, like trunking, panel positioning, etc.
• Create and maintain families in Revit to be able to work on the Dynamo plugin for Revit programming.
• Analyze, design, and develop necessary project documentation such as trunking, cable routing layouts, cable schedules, material submittals, functional design specs, detailed design specs, operation and maintenance, and training manuals related to electrical, controls, and general project requirements.
• Create reports, sheets, and schedules in Revit for material ordering. Create purchase requisitions within SAP, ordering all the required Electrical material considering existing stock for the site Installation as per the approved material submittals.
• Work closely and coordinate across various departments, such as the Mechanical, PLC Commissioning, Software, Installation, Procurement and Logistics teams.
• Manage and ensure that all project quality procedures applicable to design are being followed. This enables all aspects of the project to be achieved in meeting design needs and achieving ultimate customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for following occupational health, safety, security, environment and quality as stipulated in the Project HSSE Plan and Project Quality Plan, respectively.
  
  

What do I need to qualify for the role?

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical design and installation practices in the logistics automation domain; experience in Baggage or Cargo Handling Systems is an advantage.
• Hand-on experience with REVIT, CANECO BT, AutoCad, MS Office. Knowledge of ePlan P8 would be an added advantage.
• Hands-on knowledge of trunking & cable layout design with clear installation practices.
• Effective interpersonal skills, ability to engage internal & external stakeholders, and good to have worked in a multicultural environment.
• PLC knowledge would be an advantage.
