Job Description

Job Summary

Our M&A bankers provide strategic advisory to key clients of the bank. They work with colleagues across client coverage and other products teams to engage with senior client stakeholders to originate and execute M&A transactions.

You'll have a strong understanding of M&A processes, including developing sophisticated financial / valuation models with relevant work experience in M&A, Investment Banking or related businesses. You should be experienced in communicating with senior management at clients to deliver high quality and differentiated M&A advise.

About the Banking Team: Our Banking team leads the coverage of key clients of the bank and provides them with innovative and bespoke solutions across various financing products and advisory

Key Responsibilities

M&A Deal Origination

  • Assist with the origination of M&A mandates by leveraging on existing client relationships, contributing to idea generation, and producing high quality pitches to the bank’s clients.
  • Work in close coordination with senior bankers, client coverage and M&A teams in other regions to originate M&A transactions

M&A Transaction Execution

  • Work closely with the deal team leader and manage the day-to-day execution of M&A transactions.
  • Lead in the preparation of high-quality marketing and other materials such as Information Memorandums, Fairness Opinions and Board Papers
  • Develop and control the overall process and timeline for the transactions in coordination with the clients and other advisers such as legal, accounting, tax, etc. to provide overall project management.
  • Advise the client on valuation, transaction strategy and participate in negotiation of definitive documents, as required.
  • Execute transactions within the purview of regulatory framework governing M&A transactions and proactively identify, escalate and address any risks

Financial Modelling and Analysis

  • Review public filings, research reports, business plans and other available financial information of companies, to review operating and financial models.
  • Lead the development of sophisticated financial / valuation models to evaluate investments, reorganizations, disposals, acquisitions, and other corporate finance transactions.

Client and Deal Team Management:

  • Communicate with senior management of clients and ensure that the services and quality of work meet the highest industry standards.
  • Efficiently manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as a leader of a deal team
  • Effectively manage Analysts and Associates, delegating and reviewing their work as well as creating a culture of collaboration in the team

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accountancy or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience in M&A, Investment Banking or related business
  • Strong leadership skills, high energy level, able to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills; superior understanding of and ability to critique and evaluate financial analysis and modelling.
  • Sector expertise, experience in the Middle East and Arabic language skills are a plus.
