Position (Job title): Field Service Engineer - Power System
Reports to: Business Development Manager - PS
Job summary and key objectives
- The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering technical site support across assigned territories by identifying and addressing customer issues and providing tailored Camfil solutions.
- The role requires expertise in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and inspections of air inlet and exhaust systems on gas turbines.
- In addition to field support, the Field Service Engineer acts as a critical link between customers, Camfil's engineering/product and the sales team ensuring alignment with company mission, values, and financial objectives.
This role also involves:
- Conducting periodic site visits to customer facilities to proactively monitor system performance, address operational challenges, and flag potential issues.
- Collaborating with internal teams on projects and commissioning activities to provide on-site guidance, mentoring, and hands-on technical training.
- Supporting Camfil's service teams by delivering internal training programs, sharing technical knowledge, and enhancing team capability.
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities during customer engagements by recognizing additional customer needs and proposing value-added Camfil solutions.
- This combination of technical expertise, customer engagement, and internal capability building ensures the Field Service Engineer drives both operational excellence and commercial growth.
Role priorities
1. Site Support & Technical Services
- Perform installation, commissioning, start-up, inspection, and service visits for complete air inlet and exhaust systems (including diverter dampers) on gas turbines, ensuring operations meet specifications.
- Conduct filter element replacements, evaporative cooler media pad changes, and assess reservoir water quality.
- Inspect and maintain self-cleaning pulse systems and diverter dampers, ensuring all components are functioning optimally.
- Prepare method statements with detailed safety protocols and clear execution steps for all site activities.
2. Proactive Customer Engagement & System Monitoring
- Conduct periodic customer site visits to proactively monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and propose preventive or corrective actions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers by recommending system upgrades, maintenance improvements, and efficiency enhancements.
- Identify potential enhancements or additional solutions that could support customer operations, sharing insights with the relevant teams for follow-up.
3. Training & Internal Capability Building
- Train internal Camfil service teams, project teams, and cross-functional colleagues on technical procedures, best practices, and safety standards.
- Support internal development by sharing expertise gained from field experience and collaborating with engineering and sales teams.
- Provide technical mentoring during project commissioning activities, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer within the organization.
4. Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports, inspection findings, and technical information packages for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication between customers, engineering/product teams, and sales teams.
- Advise sales and engineering teams on customer satisfaction, system performance, and recommendations for product improvements.
- Support commercial efforts by helping position Camfil as a trusted technical partner through on-site expertise and customer-facing professionalism.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Additional certifications in industrial maintenance, gas turbine systems, or safety standards (e.g., confined space, hot work) are a plus.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in field service engineering, technical support, or project execution within the clean air solutions, HVAC, or industrial filtration industry.
- Proven expertise in site installation, commissioning, inspections, and technical maintenance of air inlet and exhaust systems for gas turbines or similar equipment.
- Experience in collaborating with engineering, operations, and sales teams to deliver high-quality service solutions.
- Prior involvement in training or mentoring technical colleagues to enhance field capabilities is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of industry safety protocols, site compliance standards, and operational best practices in field service environments.
