Kent is looking for a Finance Manager - Major Projects
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with Project experience to administer the financial operations of our Oil & Gas projects in UAE, Iraq and Oman. This role comes with full P&L responsibility and ownership for a series of key projects within UAE, Iraq and Oman. You will ensure that project profit and cash flow contribution is in accordance with “as bid” profile and targets. The main responsibility is to provide project controlling support across multiple service lines. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate ownership of maintaining accurate project cost reports, analyse general ledgers with a passion for mission-driven work and sound accounting knowledge. You will be working closely with multiple finance teams and liaising with various other stakeholders (e.g. local project teams, Project Directors, Project Manager, Cost Control Manager or Cost Control Engineer) with the aim to support and develop healthy interfaces. The ideal candidate should also possess strong knowledge of relevant IFRS, analytical skills, strong accounting software skills and the ability to navigate the complexities of the local market. You will work closely with the Finance team in Abu Dhabi, UAE to manage the multiple projects.

Project partnership: Being a finance leader and business partner to Ops and Project team
Statutory filings: Full accountability for the compliance of regulatory and financial filings in countries where projects are executed from.
Finance Transformation: Promoting continuous improvement in our financial accounting, controls and process to achieve a best-in-class finance function
Governance and Compliance: Active participation in implementation of relevant Internal Controls on Financial reporting, especially with respect to Project Accounting. Ensure revenue recognition and overall bookkeeping is in line with the applicable Accounting Standards.

Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Project partnership: Being a finance leader and business partner to Ops and Project team
- Diligently validate budget and forecast updates made by Cost Controllers
- Liaise and exchange with Cost Controllers and Project Managers to fully understand each project’s specific issues
- Develop a value-added relationship with internal operations associates
- Record month-end accounting journal entries, validate and reconcile Ledger.
- Analyse month-end results by project
- Document and analyse accounts receivables, work in progress and backlog. Drive WIP conversion.
- Ensure invoicing is produced in a timely manner by Cost Controllers
Statutory filings: Full accountability for the compliance of regulatory and financial filings in countries where projects are executed from.
- Prepare financial reports
- Analyse discrepancies in correlation to/with budget and forecasts
- Detailed review of overhead charges
- Analyse General Ledger balances
- Prepare Project to financial system reconciliations prior to results submission
- Complete legal entity month-end processes
- Perform quarterly and annual financial forecasts for projects (P&L and Cash Flow)

Accounting and reporting:
- Perform daily bookkeeping requirements as needed
- Project revenue/cost finalization
- Month-end Group reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to Senior management.
- Assist with the preparation of cashflow reports
- Monitor cash flow, DSO and ensure liquidity.
HSE AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA or CIMA)
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Project Accountant preferably with O&G indust
ry. Candidates with big 4 background can also be considered. - Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Fluent in English, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle accounting system would be a plus
- Excellent mathematical skills; management experience; integrity; honesty; understanding of data privacy standards.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate behavior that reflects ethics, professionalism and respect
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and ability to meet deadlines with a go-get attitude
