Overview
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the financial needs and reports for our project management. Responsible for providing program financial support to the Sr. Finance Manager. Establish cost structure, charge codes and maintaining Receivable & Financial statement month end close for several programs.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate reports on all major issues and monitor client comments for all financial projects.
- Assist various departments to develop regular project status reports.
- Monitor all subcontractor and vendors contracts and work as contact point for external and internal resource providers.
- Evaluate all contracts to identify important financial terms and prepare report for management and manage accounts receivables.
- Develop process improvements for month end activities and program plans, forecasts and budgets. And assist in continuous improvement projects which may involve implementing a new policy, process or system.
- Interface with Vectrus Systems Corporation Headquarters and functional managers regarding financial-related activities; develop and implement financial controls; conduct financial reviews of program areas; prepare and analyze various financial reports; develop and monitor performance metrics for financial management, and; other duties as required
- Skilled in month end cost analysis and knowledge of payroll processes, corporate allocations, indirect burdens, audit and cost control requirements, organizational setup, intercompany reconciliations and balances, reporting tools, account structures, job number structures, contracts, revenue calculations, billing calculations, and branch office consolidation.
- Develop, maintain financial models/applications (VBA Excel/Access) to automate and streamline business processes and perform financial analysis.
- Enters and proof journal entries in IFS system in accordance with company policies compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Improve and maintain an organized document structure and supporting file mapping for US military to follow work order number to material documentation
- Interfaces with internal and external auditors
- Responsible to provide support, provide accurate back up and run reports for internal and external auditors.
- Assist the Finance Manager in projects as needed and Performs additional duties as required.
- Identify irregularities and descrepencies in costs incurred & recorded entries across multiple systems (accounting, inventory, and billing)
- Identify process improvements for go-foward process of record keeping & invoice support
- Use of Accounting System (IFS) and Work order System (MAXIMO).
- Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. This foundational education ensures the candidate has a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Professional Certifications (Preferred but not required): While not mandatory, certifications such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) can be advantageous and demonstrate a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field.
- Experience:
- Industry-Specific Experience: Four or more years of experience in all areas of accounting finance including Financial Analysis or Project Controls. Experience in operations with multiple locations is preferred.
- Skills & Technology Used:
- Financial Software Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems such as Deltek, Costpoint, and QuickBooks is essential for managing processes and financial data.
- Data Analysis Tools: Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools to perform financial analyses, identify trends, and prepare reports.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing and analyzing data, ensuring compliance with contract terms and regulatory guidelines.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and other departments. Ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
