Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Operations Assistant – Marine Services reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, based out Fujairah, UAE shall be part of a high-performing team and responsible to support and manage the day to day radio room communications and coordination as per company defined policies. To achieve and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities:

• Manage communication and coordination for daily customer requirements.
• Coordinate vessel berthing for cargo operations at Fujairah Oil Tanker Terminals, Vopak, STS Operations, and Adco SPM terminals.
• Communicate with terminal representatives, vessel masters, and principals regarding vessel movements.
• Ensure all necessary arrival and departure information is collected from the vessel and communicated to all relevant parties as per established procedures.
• Collaborate closely with the appropriate authorities to address equipment, manpower, and documentation requirements for vessels calling at port or anchorage.
• Provide customers timely updates on equipment status, necessary arrangements, ETA notices, boat schedules, and more.
• Operate launch boats to and from anchorage according to customer requirements.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Being able to communicate verbally/writing in a clear and concise manner.
• Balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment.
• Good interpersonal relationship in managing people/sub-ordinates, planning, organizing.
• Excellent attention to minute details.
• Self-driven, organized, good communication skills.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Strong Problem Solving & Analytical Skills.
  
  

Education and Qualifications:

Education/Experience

• 2 -3 years’ experience in similar role with excellent knowledge of port agency operations.
• Having a good knowledge of customer base and their requirements.
• Familiar with PoF rules and regulation / NTM , NTA , etc...
• Local Middle East Port knowledge.
• Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures and delivering work in accordance to SLA (Service Level Agreements).
• A relevant degree shall be appreciated.
