Job Purpose

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to join our team as the Global Senior Manager of Automation & Innovation team. This senior-level role will be instrumental in driving the strategic direction and execution of our automation and innovation initiatives across multiple regions and verticals. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Global Automation solution Managers and Lead engineers, delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and drive sustainable growth. As the primary point of contact for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs and a subject matter expert in emerging technologies, the Global Sr. Manager will play a critical role in shaping the future of our logistics operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a diverse team of Global automation solution managers, Lead Automation Engineers, and Emerging Tech Interns. And foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence with all regional ops and provide guidance, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure high levels of productivity and engagement.
  • Develop and implement the global strategy for automation and innovation within the global contract Logistics group. Align strategies with departmental goals to achieve cost savings and ensure the automation roadmap meets both current and future operational needs.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, Digital Twin Technology, RPA’s and blockchain etc.… Drive the identification, assessment, and adoption of innovative automation solutions and digital tools as well as lead R&D projects and define proof of concepts to advance automation and innovation.
  • Oversee the design and execution of end-to-end automation and innovation solutions across various regions. Ensure solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with Department objectives and goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SRM programs, working closely with key customers & vendors to assess and implement new products, tools, and technologies. Build strong partnerships with customers & vendors to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, finance, and customers, to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions. Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption and optimize performance.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to analyze performance metrics, optimize layouts, and ensure financial metrics are met. Develop data-driven strategies to improve team efficiency.
  • Champion the development of internal talent by providing training and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Ensure teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to implement and manage automation solutions effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Establish best practices and standards for automation across the organization.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Intralogistics, Innovation team management or business development engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in a global or multi-regional capacity is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of experience in automation, innovation, or emerging technologies within logistics, supply chain, or a related industry.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end automation solutions, warehouse design, and optimization. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau is required.
  • Expertise in emerging technologies such as Cloud Technologies, RPA, AI, IoT, robotics, Digital Twin blockchain, and their applications in preferably in logistics / Supply chain Industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 30 to 40% globally for site visits, vendor assessments, and customer meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leading large-scale automation projects in a global organization and managing high skilled SME’s.
  • Proven track record in driving innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies in logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs and vendor collaboration.
