What you need to know about the role- The Head of Government Relations Middle East and Africa is part of the International GR team and aims at supporting PayPal’s business objectives through the development and implementation of a Government Relations strategy for the Middle East and Africa. Meet our team- You are joining a team of Government Relations professionals covering EMEA and large parts of APAC. Our team is instrumental for the business to navigate with confidence a very dynamic public policy and political environment. We engage early and transparently with a diverse network of external stakeholders and advise our colleagues about the potential impact on the business of policy and political changes in our ecosystem.

Job Description:
Your way to impact –

The Head of Government Relations, Middle East and Africa will develop and implement a Government Relations strategy to support PayPal’s business objectives in the region. This includes identifying key policy priorities, crafting public policy positions, and proactively engaging with stakeholders influencing the regulatory landscape. The role will focus on critical jurisdictions and organizations impacting PayPal’s public policy agenda, covering areas such as payments, financial crime, digital, crypto, trade, and financial inclusion. Additionally, they will communicate policy trends and regulatory developments to internal stakeholders while collaborating closely with PayPal’s Global Government Relations and regional Global Markets teams.

Your day to day –

• Monitor & Advise: Identify emerging public policy risks, opportunities, and regulatory issues in the Middle East and Africa, assessing their business impact and recommending solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute external engagement plans, build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, and serve as the GR reference for the region.
• Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Create position papers, briefings, and consultation responses to establish PayPal’s public policy leadership in the Middle East and Africa.
• Industry & Government Relations: Represent PayPal in meetings with government officials, industry events, and trade associations to enhance advocacy efforts.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Global Markets and GR leaders to align policy strategies, support e-government initiatives, and contribute to long-term planning.
