HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As the Head of HR for Cartier UAE, reporting to the HRD Cartier MEIAT, you will lead the design and execution of the HR strategy for Cartier UAE (Office & Boutique population), ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives. This role is part of the UAE Executive Committee, working with other senior leaders to integrate the human resources function within the overall business strategy, and act as a trusted adviser on the organizational structure and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement People HR strategy for the UAE entity ensuring alignment with Maison goals, regional and local priorities and fostering organizational growth and performance. Leverage People Analytics to shape the HR strategy and facilitate decision making. Contribute to the Cartier UAE strategic plan process. Actively participate in the Boutiques’ yearly action plan and implement HR actions for the Boutique network. Actively participate in the Region HR/UAE Country strategy by his/her contribution in cross market projects.
Team Management: Manage a team of two (HR Manager and Executive), leading by example, cultivating their motivation, skills and attitudes. Ensure the proper pathways for each team member, valorizing their own strengths and help fostering development areas. Provide direction and guidance on both strategic and operational matters.
Business Partnership: Closely collaborate with Ex-Co members to accompany them in all HR related topics acting as a trustworthy advisor. Be a point of reference for the retail network showing proximity and understanding of retail needs. Provide advice and coach managers: facilitate and influence challenging and complex situations by providing consistent and agile solutions. Detect and handle complaints, disputes, litigations and investigations. Evaluate and execute appropriate disciplinary measures. Collaborate with other HRMs from other Maisons/Markets sharing HR best practices, projects and yearly priorities emphasizing a sense of belonging to the HR community. Enable a human-centric workplace, conveying an engaging employee experience through employees’ journey.
Organizational Design: Constantly assess with the local Exco and Managing Director the organizational set-up (structure & staffing) for office and boutique teams by driving the organizational dynamics reviews based on HR analytics (productivity) and business needs. Challenge the status quo and – where needed – put in place the needed corrective action plans. Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth transition during organizational changes.
Talent Acquisition & Management: In partnership with regional Talent team, supervise recruiting processes from defining business needs to offer stage. Retain our talents with customized development plans. Prepare the future in building solid succession planning for key positions. Coordinate talent acquisition strategy in line with Maison employer branding guidelines and in collaboration with HQ and regional team (universities synergies, ad hoc initiatives, international programs etc.). Develop and lead a comprehensive Emiratization strategy (including Talent programs), aligning with UAE national objectives and Maison’s business needs.
Compensation & Benefits: Oversee HR costs & headcount planning, salary reviews, and benefits strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, financial goals, and market standards. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure the competitive positioning of compensation packages while maintaining internal equity and compliance.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Ensure full compliance in the application of all HR policies and processes. Leverage digital tools and technologies (e.g. Workday, Visier, SAP…) to drive data-informed decisions, workforce planning, and employee development. Lead and support cross-functional HR initiatives and business process improvements, promoting HR best practices regionally and globally. Lead the coordination of HR compliance audits.
Inclusive Workplace: Promote a culture of belonging and care for our people. Drive employee engagement aligned with Maison’s core values. Lead engagement surveys and implement a solid action plan. Lead and implement a long-term Wellbeing Strategy for employees, both at office and in boutiques. Promote HR People initiatives for the UAE (retail volunteering program, HR drop-in days, welcome breakfasts etc.) and create further moments to support the growth and engagement of our talents.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
To thrive in this role as Head of HR, you should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 10 years’ HR leadership experience, ideally within the UAE or the wider MEIA region. A strong expertise in the retail industry is essential, alongside proven experience in talent management, organizational development, and HR transformation. Excellent stakeholder management skills are crucial, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels, as is a strong knowledge of UAE labor laws and regulatory frameworks.
