Description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for structuring learning content into effective, measurable instructional solutions. The role focuses on learning objectives, assessment design, content flow, and instructional rigor, ensuring alignment with academic standards, accreditation requirements, and intended learning outcomes.

Main roles & responsibilities

  • Analyse learning needs, learner profiles, and performance gaps
  • Design course structures, learning pathways, and instructional blueprints
  • Write and align learning outcomes mapped to Bloom’s Taxonomy or equivalent frameworks
  • Design formative and summative assessments, rubrics, and evaluation criteria
  • Translate subject-matter expertise into structured instructional content
  • Ensure alignment with accreditation frameworks and quality standards
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs, faculty members, and content developers
  • Review and quality-assure learning materials for clarity, coherence, and instructional integrity
  • Support adaptive and data-driven learning models where applicable

Required qualification & skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field
  • 4–7 years of experience in instructional design within higher education, corporate learning, or online learning environments
  • Strong grounding in learning theories and design models (Backward Design, ADDIE, Constructivism, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment design and learning outcome mapping
  • Hands-on experience with LMS platforms such as Moodle, and Blackboard.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with micro-credentials and stackable learning models
  • Familiarity with adaptive learning systems and data-informed instructional design
  • Experience designing for accreditation-driven or regulated learning environments

  • Authoring tools (Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate)
  • Video editing tools
  • Text-to-audio and text-to-video AI tools
  • Text-to-image AI tools
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Assessment and rubric design tools
  • Learning analytics and reporting tools
  • Collaboration and content review platforms
  • Content repositories and version control systems
  • Accessibility and quality-assurance tools
  • UX and learning experience prototyping tools (preferred)

  • Quality and clarity of learning outcomes
  • Learner completion and achievement rates
  • Outcomes of accreditation and quality assurance reviews
