Integration Expert (Team Lead)

About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Integration Expert (Team Lead) to lead our Integration Squad in driving the migration to a robust middleware architecture using SoftwareAG WebMethod. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise in API Management, BizTalk, and enterprise integration practices. You’ll be at the forefront of designing scalable, secure, and high-performing integrations across our IT ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of integration engineers.
• Define team goals, manage project timelines, and monitor delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, infrastructure, and security teams.
  
  

Integration Strategy & Middleware Transformation

• Drive the migration from BizTalk and custom-built integrations to SoftwareAG WebMethod.
• Architect centralized, scalable middleware solutions.
• Define integration governance, standardization, and best practices.
  
  

API & Middleware Management

• Manage Azure API Management (APIM) and SoftwareAG API Gateway for security and efficiency.
• Design and manage RESTful & SOAP APIs across the organization.
• Oversee full API lifecycle including versioning, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  
  

Development & Troubleshooting

• Lead development, debugging, and optimization of integration components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
• Ensure reliability and performance across integration services.
  
  

Security, Compliance & Monitoring

• Implement secure protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SAML) for API authentication.
• Set up logging, alerts, and monitoring tools to proactively resolve integration issues.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and policies.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
  

Experience

• 8+ years of experience working with SoftwareAG WebMethod, Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging.
• Strong experience in Microsoft BizTalk Server, including orchestrations, schemas, and pipelines.
  
  

Technical Proficiency

• Expert in APIM, microservices, event-driven architecture, and ESB solutions.
• Deep understanding of API development, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, XML/XSLT.
• Skilled with integration messaging protocols (JMS, MQTT, AMQP).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.
• Strong coding experience in C#, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with workflow automation, BPM, and scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
• Integration testing and troubleshooting of BizTalk-based systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management).
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines using Azure or similar tools.
• Certifications in SoftwareAG WebMethod, Azure APIM, or Integration Architecture.
• Experience with enterprise-wide integration transformations.
• Exposure to AI/ML automation in integration workflows.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and JIRA/Confluence tools.
