The Role
About the Role We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee IT service delivery for a client in the maritime oil and gas sector, managing IT operations across network engineering, system engineering, application support, and IT help desk teams. The role will ensure seamless IT services for critical vessel operations in the Gulf region, driving efficiency, security, and performance across IT infrastructure and applications. Key Responsibilities • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple IT projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery while aligning with business and operational objectives. • Service Delivery Oversight: Ensure IT operations run efficiently, supporting networking, system administration, application support, and help desk functions. • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with business units, maritime operations teams, and external vendors to align IT services with operational needs. • Network & Systems Management: Oversee IT infrastructure performance, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity between onshore and offshore assets. • Application Support: Ensure business-critical maritime applications and ERP systems are well-maintained, updated, and optimized. • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Enforce IT security policies and regulatory compliance standards in alignment with maritime and oil & gas industry requirements. • Incident & Change Management: Lead ITIL-based change, incident, and problem management processes for improved service stability and availability. • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Experience: • 7+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 3 years in the maritime or oil & gas sector. • Strong track record in IT service delivery across networking, systems, applications, and help desk operations. Technical Skills: • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud computing, and enterprise applications. • Experience with maritime IT solutions, SCADA, IoT, satellite communications (VSAT), and ERP systems is a plus. • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, or maritime security standards like IMO 2021 MSC.428(98)). Project Management Skills: • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies. • PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL certifications preferred. Soft Skills: • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive and analytical approach. • Ability to work in a fast-paced and operationally critical environment.
